Healthcare Reform – Preparing you and your company for 2014
The enactment of The Patient Protection and Affordability Care Act in March of 2010 has changed the face of health insurance for every American. This 2000 plus page bill contains many new laws that will change how an employer will offer benefits in the future.

Michelle Maher and Doug Panner of The Cleveland Company will break out the specific portions that will affect Human Resources and the employees they support. Regardless of the size of your company you will hear which items are critical for you to know and understand and which areas of the bill have yet to be fully laid out by the Obama Administration. There will time left at the end to have an open discussion so that any clarification questions you may have will be answered.

Speakers:

Michelle A. Maher, Partner, Consultant
Michelle joined The Cleveland Company in 1996 as an employee benefits consultant with 13 years of insurance experience. Her prior experience includes the areas of Sales and Marketing, Business Analyst and as a Systems Analyst with several insurance companies, including Securian Financial Group of St. Paul, MN. Michelle is Fellow of the Life Management Institute and an Associate of Customer Service. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas Business Administration, Accounting and Financial Management major. Michelle is an Employee Benefits expert on the Optimum Human Resources Systems Team. She was named the Twin Cities Business Magazine 2010 Five Star Health Insurance Professional for overall customer satisfaction.

Douglas C. Panner, Consultant
Doug joined The Cleveland Company in 2008 as an employee benefits consultant after only a year in the insurance industry. He co-founded The Portal Group in 2007, an employee benefits firm and then partnered with The Cleveland Company in 2008. His prior experience includes the areas of sales and consulting for employee recognition, payroll, HR, Section 125 and retirement planning with The Tharpe Company, Paychex, and CBIZ. Doug served on the HRP of MN board in 2007 and has been involved in numerous chambers throughout the twin cities. He graduated from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, Public Relations/Communications and Business Administration major.
