Vice President Public Relations

The Vice President Public Relations, an officer position, coordinates the activities of the Update Co-Editors, Sponsorship and Advertising Committee Chair, Communications Committee Chair, Web Site Editor, and Web Services Committee Chair to keep HRP-MN members informed of all meetings, monthly programs, special events, and mini-conferences. This position is directly responsible for maintaining HRP-MN’s image by coordinating logo and layout usage in publications, as well as all electronic communications.

Duties

  • Trains, manages and coordinates activities of committee chairs as listed above.
  • Ensures timely publication of Update, including proofreading Update before it is produced in final form.
  • Monitors supply of stationery and envelopes; assigns the maintenance of brochures and attends monthly Board meetings.
  • Maintains budget records and provides requests to Vice President Finance and Board President for next fiscal year.
  • Oversees website content & branding, in coordination with Web Services Chair and Editor.
  • Works with association management firm to ensure timeliness and accuracy of email blasts that are sent out to members. Proofreads all blasts before they are sent in final form.
  • Assists with content and layout of event mailers and promotional brochures.
  • Ensures that HRP-MN’s branding and image standards are maintained in all communications.
  • Presents in-kind or in-trade sponsorship opportunities to the Board for review and approval, in coordination with Sponsorship & Advertising Committee Chair.

 

Calendar

  • June: Works with new President to ensure the list of all new Board members is prepared and distributed to all Board members.
  • Helps ensure that the web site content is current with the appointment of new board members each fiscal year.
  • Monthly: Confers with Committee Chairs for updates on activities. Reports activities to Board meetings.

 


Special Information

Due to the critical nature of this Public Relations role, it is helpful to have experienced HRP-MN members on several committees. At least two years’ previous HRP-MN Board or Committee experience is required.

This position has the option of creating/updating publications in house, assigning the duties to one of the Committee Chairs, or paying for the service. If an outside vendor is used, it is the Update graphic artist or association management firm. All fees are Board approved in advance.
